Privacy Policy

This website is primarily informational. We collect only what you choose to send us, plus the standard technical information any website receives:

• Contact form details — the name, email, phone number, inquiry type and message you enter on our contact page.
• Catering / event inquiry details — name, email, phone, event type, date, guest count and the details you describe.
• Order-related information — details you share with us directly by phone, WhatsApp, email or in the studio, such as pickup dates, designs and preferences.
• Technical information — data automatically processed by our hosting provider to deliver the site, such as IP address, browser type, device type and pages requested, in standard server logs.

We do not run advertising trackers on this site, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not collect payment-card details on this website.

• Responding to your questions, inquiries and messages
• Preparing, confirming and coordinating orders and events
• Providing customer service and follow-up about an order
• Maintaining, securing and improving the website
• Preventing fraud and misuse
• Meeting legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
• Sending occasional updates only where you have asked to receive them

When you choose Order Online, you are taken to our third-party ordering platform on a separate website. Any information you enter there — including contact and payment details — is collected and handled by that provider under its own privacy policy and terms, not by this website.

We do not process or store complete payment-card information on this website. Online payments are handled by our third-party ordering and payment providers. In-studio payments are processed by our point-of-sale provider. We may retain basic transaction records (such as amount, date and order details) for accounting purposes.

This website does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts on it. Some embedded third-party content — such as the Google Maps map on our contact page — may set cookies or similar technologies when it loads.

Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

The services actually used in connection with this website are:

• Our online ordering and payment provider (external ordering pages)
• Google Maps (embedded map and directions links on the contact page)
• Instagram (links to our profile and, where enabled, an embedded feed)
• WhatsApp and standard telephone / email (messages you send us)
• Our website hosting and infrastructure providers

Each service handles the information you give it under its own privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary:

• With service providers who help us operate (hosting, ordering, payments, delivery)
• Where you ask us to, for example arranging a delivery
• Where required by law, legal process or to protect rights and safety
• In connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable law

We keep inquiry and order information for as long as needed to serve you, keep accurate business and tax records, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations, and then delete or archive it. Retention periods vary with the type of record.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections for this website, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

This website is intended for adults ordering cakes and desserts and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the inquiry information we hold about you, and you can ask us to stop sending you messages at any time. Contact us at cake@cakebycm.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some records must be kept for legal or accounting reasons.

Where a specific privacy law applies to you, we will honor the rights it gives you.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our website or practices change. The revised version and its updated date will be posted on this page.
